Eyeliner Basics-Part one

Look, we all know eyeliner is really hard to do no matter how long you've been applying makeup. Sometimes yours doesn't look the best. You need practice. But when your eyeliner is thicker than your pencil, half as sharp and points straight down you look like a mess and not necessarily a hot one.

I advise practicing a lot and not wearing eyeliner out of the house until you're at least decently experienced with it. Better to have no/minimal eyeliner than go around looking like you escaped from Hot Topic.
This is never a good look.

This first part will involve basic rules of eyeliner applications. These are your basics; the ones that you should never try to alter, at least in normal wearable looks. First off, the angle of your wing (If you decide to wear a wing):

It should face UPwards from your lower lash line towards the very tip of your brow. Yes up that word is important. Your wing should always point up, never straight or down. I'm not going to just present that as a rule, lemmie tell you why; if your wing points downwards, not only is that super unnatural and you wind up with wings on your cheek but it makes your eyes look droopy and tired. If your eyeliner points down so does your eye.

Next, thickness.

At it's thickest, your liner should NEVER be thicker than the highest point (Or middle) of your eye. Any thicker and the eyeliner will overpower your eyes, making them look smaller. It's also more likely to transfer around your eye and honestly can just look pretty trashy in my opinion.

Okay, so next up is tapering

Generally, no matter whether you have a wing or not, your eyeliner should be at its thinnest at the innermost corner of your eye and get thicker from there. If you're adding a wing, the same rule applies but it should start tapering back out, reaching it's thinnest again at the tip of your wing. Tapering out your line shows dimension, keeping the liner from overpowering your eyes and making them look bigger. the goal is to accentuate your beautiful eyes, not scribble all over them.

Lastly, height

This is probably a given, but your wings should always stop before your brow bone. There're long wings and then there's oh god what happened here.

So there are your basics, I'm going to post the application tutorial tomorrow or the following day. Speaking of following it would be great if you followed me, so you'll be notified when I post new things :)
